Founder of Hansel Books

Miguel Antelo is a Spanish author, creative director, and songwriter working across publishing, music, and audiovisual storytelling. He is the founder of Hansel Books, a boutique publishing label dedicated to developing high-quality illustrated narrative properties with international potential.

With a background spanning musical theatre, traditional animation, and screen production, Miguel has written and directed stage adaptations of major international musicals including Shrek, Avenue Q, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, Tina, and The Sound of Music, as well as creating original theatrical works that led to his transition into illustrated storytelling.

Alongside his publishing work, he is a well-established dialogue and music director for film and television, collaborating with major studios such as Disney, Universal, Netflix, DreamWorks, and Paramount.

His credits include dialogue and song direction for international titles such as Wicked, Michael, The Little Mermaid, Super Mario, The Wild Robot, and numerous animated and musical productions. He is also widely recognized as the Spanish voice of characters such as Olaf (Frozen) and Elmo (Sesame Street).

Hansel Books is proud to collaborate with some of the most talented artists in the entertainment industry. Hansel & Gretel has been illustrated by two leading artists in the world of animation: Sandro Cleuzo and Javier Burgos.

The Troll & the Puffin features designs by Jeff Merghart and Edu GilSanz, with illustrations by Jose Manuel Fernandez Oli and Jochem Van Gool, among others. The Art of Hansel & Gretel includes contributions from more than 100 international artists from the fields of animation and illustration, including Carlos Luzzi, Borja Montoro, Torsten Schrank, and Aveline Stokart.
